Reporting Data
Compliance Reporting Data
Penn State’s Office of Ethics and Compliance has compiled the data below by collaborating with compliance units across the University. It is the goal of the Office of Ethics and Compliance to continue to work in partnership with other University compliance units to provide accurate and comprehensive data that encompasses all avenues for reporting at Penn State.
These reports provide a comprehensive summary of investigations and reports received by the Penn State Ethics Hotline. Additional information has been collected from various departments including Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (OEOA), Office of the Vice President for Educational Equity (including Report Bias), Office of Sexual Misconduct Reporting and Response (OSMRR), Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Resolution (OSACR), and the Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC). It is important to note that some incidents are reported to multiple areas or departments within the University, including anonymously, which may result in duplication in the reporting data. OSACR hazing report numbers do not include all reports of organizational hazing, as those reports are not classified until the investigation is complete.
The reports below illustrate the number and category of reports received by the hotline and other institutional compliance areas, the distribution of reports by region, and report outcomes.

Anti-Hazing Reports
Annual Anti-Hazing Reports are published in accordance with Act 80 of 2018, the Timothy J. Piazza Antihazing Law, 18 Pa.C.S. § 2809 et seq. These reports cover all campuses of the University, though certain University campuses may not appear in any given report if they reported no hazing violations for this time period.
Annual Security Reports
Annually, Penn State University publishes the Annual Security Reports titled “Policies, Safety, & U,” which include Clery Act crime statistics for the previous three years, campus security policies, and crime prevention and safety awareness programs. Access these documents by visiting the University Police & Public Safety Annual Security Reports webpage.
