Joyce Hanscom is an Export Compliance Specialist in the Office of Ethics and Compliance at Penn State. Joyce is responsible for screening foreign scholars, reviewing international travel, assisting with Material Transfer Agreement reviews, and documenting internal export compliance processes and procedures.
Prior to joining the Office of Ethics and Compliance Joyce served as an Administrative Assistant for the Health Policy and Administration Department for nearly four years. In this role she gained valuable knowledge about the academic environment and policies of Penn State.
Joyce received her B.S. degree in Vocational Industrial Education from the Pennsylvania State University in 1987, and specialized in development and teaching Computer Science/Data Processing classes for both secondary students and adults at the Centre County Vocational Technical School, now Central Pennsylvania Institute (CPI). She also earned a Post-baccalaureate Distance Education Certificate in 2016 from the Pennsylvania State University, World Campus, which focused on adult education and development of distance education courses.
